2018 has arrived amid spectacular firework displays and celebrations kicking off one after another in major cities across the world. Over the past year, the sharing economy has exploded and the use of online-to-offline commerce, the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence (AI) have accelerated and expanded. All these have brought new revolutions to industries and economic development as well as more opportunities and challenges to manufacturers. Those who can seize the next wave of information technology and big data analysis seem to be capable of securing the leading position and win at the key moment of transition!
First, the world’s largest international consumer electronics trade show, CES, took place on January 9-12 in Las Vegas and ended successfully with exciting figures and features. This year’s event housed more than 4,000 exhibitors occupying more than 260,000 square feet of exhibit space and highlighted “3As”, which represent AI, ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems) and AR/VR entertainment applications. Just for the AR and VR sector, there were as many as 70 exhibitors. Many companies from the game (amusement) industry in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan went to Las Vegas to either exhibit at the show or check out products. They aimed to explore the newest inventions and technology and seek to discover in what the direction the next winds of development and operation will blow.
Trade shows are one of the wind vanes for detecting product trends and the direction in which the industry’s development is heading. The two GTI Expos we organize, GTI Asia Taipei Expo held on May 10-12 this year and GTI Asia China Expo on September 12-14, are valuable platforms worthy to be recommended to those who intend to develop and expand in the Asia-Pacific regional market. GTI Asia Taipei Expo, a trade exhibition with an illustrious history and content, covers a wide variety of product categories ranging from gaming, online, to amusement and will be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. GTI Asia China Expo is China’s largest and most effective amusement trade show and marching towards its 10th anniversary. Making ongoing efforts for continuous improvement and pursuing innovation, the two GTI Expos have been on the path of cross-industry, diversified development. Not only have they been writing their own records, but they have also been witnessing the course of development of the game (amusement) industry in the Asia-Pacific region amid the competition among manufacturers and brands.
A successful trade show can draw attention and buyer interest, gain the spotlight from global media, attract talent and capital investment, and drive the industry to flourish. We wholeheartedly invite our readers and industry members worldwide to mark your calendar for the two GTI Expos and hope a trip to Asia will lead you to the best partners in addition to gorgeous scenery and delightful cuisine. Facing the emerging Asia market offering tremendous business opportunities, one needs to make the right choices and get ahead of the game in order to win.
