British operator Town and County Leisure Limited had been acquired by the Gauselmann Group, Germany's largest gaming machine company, which already had substantial holdings in the UK machine industry.  Paul Langham, Managing Director of Town and County Leisure Limited, was proud to be a part of the Gauselmann Group.  "The acquisition offers important synergy effects and expansion possibilities.  It is a great chance for Town and County Leisure Limited to open up new growth potential".  Birmingham-based Town and County Leisure Limited was run by Paul Langham and his team of directors.  The company was a supplier to national, regional as well as free trade pub retailers in equal measure and had a strong business in outsourcing its service arm to adult gaming centre, bingo and casino operators, including another Gauselmann group company, Praesepe.  In the past few years, Town and County Leisure Limited had made a name for itself through its high service level and portfolio.  Sascha Blodau, General Manager UK of the Gauselmann Group, said, "The company philosophy of Town and County Leisure Limited fits perfectly to the Gauselmann Group.  Both companies set themselves the highest quality demands and spare no efforts to accommodate their ambitious goals and service concepts. 

The acquisition is a great asset to the entire corporate group".  Town and County Leisure Limited has around 1,800 machines in operation, has been established for over 30 years and has been a prominent member of the Independent Operators Association, a UK cooperative of machine operators.  The directors and staff of Town and County Leisure would remain with the businesses.  Town and County Limited has been acquired by a new Gauselmann company, Merkur Engineering Limited.  This new business would continue under the current management and its board would be chaired by Nick Harding, CEO of Gauselmann's AGC and Bingo business Praesepe.  The core operating business would continue to be operated as Town and County Leisure Limited until its integration into the Gauselmann national operating business Regal Gaming and Leisure.  (2016/05/26)
