Chinese property developer Landing International Development is looking to build a multibillion dollar theme park in the Philippines, said the company in a statement.  On Monday, Landing International Development chairman and executive director Yang Zhihui, met with President Rodrigo Duterte and his cabinet team where they discussed the company’s proposal to build an international branded theme park integrated resort in the country.  According to Yang, the resort will comprise Asia’s first movie-themed indoor theme park, waterpark, as well as many other leisure and entertainment facilities.  Yang said the project “will enhance the Philippines’ tourism appeal, complement existing tourist attractions and resorts as well as create significant employment opportunities for locals as well as returning Filipinos who are currently working overseas,” adding that the park would be something “all Filipinos will be proud of”.

President Duterte expressed his “keen” interest and support for the company’s proposal, the company said.  Landing International Development Limited (the “Company”) (582.HK) is limited company incorporated in the Cayman Islands and is mainly engages in development and operation of the integrated resort, casino and real estate development business carried under a casino license.  Currently the business mainly covers Jeju Special Self-Governing Province of South Korea.  In June 2014, the Group has completed the acquisition of a casino in Hyatt Regency Jeju Hotel and the project company has become the Group’s wholly–owned subsidiary in October 2015. The casino was then renamed as “Landing Casino”.  Located in the five-star Hyatt Regency Jeju Hotel, the Landing Casino is pursuant to one of the eight gaming licenses in Jeju under the Tourism Promotion Act. The Landing Casino currently has 26 Baccarat tables, 1 Blackjack table, 1 Tai Sai table, 1 Roulette table and 16 slot machines. (2017/09/30)
