VR Coaster Opens at Huis Ten Bosch |
They say life’s a roller coaster, but real life is nothing compared to VR King, the brand new VR roller coaster that opened in August at Huis Ten Bosch theme park in Sasebo, Japan. The attraction uses VR technology to simulate a coaster that would be the highest, the longest and the fastest in the world if built in reality, featuring a 3,000-meter-long course, speeds up to 270khmp and a 300-meter vertical drop, which is about the height of a 90-story skyscraper. Riders board a roller coaster-like car, put on VR goggles and immerse themselves in a 2-and-a-half-minute video that sounds and feels like the real thing. As the car titles, jolts and clatters, riders experience the sensation of climbing high above the city skyline, speeding through buildings, woods and a cave. (2017/10/25)
