With the newly rebranded EAG International Expo scheduled for 14th-16th January 2020, exhibitors representing every facet of leisure and entertainment are adding the finishing touches to their product showcases. Well over 5,000 buyers and leisure industry leaders from Europe are expected to travel to ExCeL London to experience the very latest products, to join inspirational seminars and catch up with industry friends and colleagues. Each year EAG continues to attract new exhibitors, ensuring a constant supply of innovative products and adding to the impressive body of knowledge and expertise that has become the hallmark of the show. A welcome highlight for 2020 will be the debut of Severn Leisure Rides, a recent start-up business that has secured exclusive UK distribution for SELA Group’s impressive product portfolio.
Severn Leisure may be a relatively new business, but it’s built upon 70 years of operating experience. Sales & Engineering Director Justin Minor explains; “We’re looking forward to attending EAG International as a new distributor for SELA, but we are also well-established operators in our own right. My business partner owns a family fun park which his family have operated for around 70 years. I started working at the park 30 years ago and have worked my way up to Park Manager. Our first experience of SELA products was when we bought a neighbouring park in the early 90’s. The park already had some SELA bumper boats and F1 cars which had been supplied by Bill Hammett of Leisure Engineering.

We were so impressed with the SELA battery-powered vehicles that we purchased many more over the years; in fact, we bought only SELA vehicles and are now at the point where we operate over 30 in our park. We can testify to their earning potential, reliability and durability. A few of our vehicles are over 20 years old and they’re still as profitable as their new counterparts. The SELA vehicles also deliver a huge cost saving because they don’t require an operator,” reveals Justin. On Bill Hammett’s retirement, impressed with Severn Leisure Rides’ depth of knowledge and hands-on experience, SELA appointed the company as exclusive UK distributor for their entire product range.
Visitors to EAG stand 328 will be treated to a wide range of beautifully engineered children’s battery-powered vehicles in several sizes, resplendent in their tough hi-gloss gel coated finish. The products on display will include the Hurricane bumper car range, Quad Bike, Tractor, F1 Car, Mini-Quad and, brand new for this winter, the eagerly awaited SELA Drive Yourself Sleigh. Children’s driving schools continue to increase in popularity and the SELA range will be extended with the addition of the GTS 919 Roadster; just the car for the young driver!
On a serious note, safety is a top priority at SELA, with all new vehicles boasting enhanced features such as remote engine control and built-in automatic distance control. Severn Leisure Rides will also offer safety barrier systems for customers’ tracks. The Severn Leisure Rides team looks forward to welcoming guests to stand 328, with Justin Minor revealing that all vehicles showcased on their stand will be available at specially discounted rates. With 9 car tracks of their own, operating support and advice is also sure to be plentiful!
