With Covid-19 pandemic situation in Taiwan becomes worse, the Taipei City Government has requested that all claw machine shops, shrimp fishing stores, board game shops, AR and VR amusement centers, and restaurants with karaoke facilities in its jurisdiction to close from 4 p.m. on May 17th to May 28th. Taipei City considered that the claw machine shop doesn’t have staff to manage, clean, and disinfect machines regulary, and there may still be people going during this period, so the claw machine shop has to be closed. According to the data from Taipei City Revenue Service, there are total 617 locations of claw machine shops. Shrimp fishing stores, board game shops, AR/VR venues, and restaurants with karaoke facilities are not licensed, the precise numbers cannot be offered.
As for the New Taipei City Government, it is difficult for certain businesses to maintain safe social distance to prevent cluster such as claw machine shops, escape rooms, novels and comics rental shops, shrimp fishing storess, etc., these locations cannot be cleaned and disinfected immediately after use due to unmanagement. Therefore, due to the risk of pandemic prevention, strict control is adopted to avoid breach of pandemic prevention. The city government will inspect such places from time to time. Those who violate the regulations and refuse to improve can be fined up to NT$300,000. All businesses are requested to cooperate in the difficult situation and cooperate in closing their locations to fight the epidemic. (2021/05/24)
