The 23rd edition of GTI Asia Taipei Expo received the attendance of Taiwan’s President-elect Tsai Ing-wen at the inauguration ceremony, which gave great inspiration to Taiwan’s game and amusement industry. The entire industry holds an ever-soaring anticipation towards the new air brought in by the newly established government. “We hope the government will reconsider the possibility of opening casinos in Taiwan, review the existing regulatory bills, resolve the difficulties Taiwan’s industry is facing, and reform the unreasonable laws and decrees. We are all looking forward to a new grand era coming,” a stakeholder said. GTI Taipei is ahead with the most significant trends, breaks through the relocation and transformation taking place, and unites the industry chain for strengthening MIT brands around the world.
On the other side, VR has become another lucrative industry, which draws a lot of manufacturers in and is regarded as a new uprising industry. 2016 is being seen as the first year of the VR era. Taiwan’s mobile phone manufacturing giant HTC in cooperation with Valve has developed the VR equipment HTI Vive, which features industry leading space positioning technology, providing the users with an immersive experience by using a 360 degree environment detecting system and tracing controller. “Players can walk freely in our created VR space,” a representative from HTC said. It is reported that LeKe VR, a very well known VR manufacturer from Mainland China is negotiating with HTC about a deep collaboration in VR. In the future, LeKe VR will launch VR movies, VR athletics, VR extreme sports, and VR amusement among others. A report release recently states that more than 100 manufacturers in Shenzhen have plans to invest in VR projects, making VR one of the most attractive and profitable future domains.
As the number of VR users grows sharply, the newly rising industry freshens the traditional game and amusement industry and makes room for huge possibilities. At the same time, VR technology is being widely applied in real estate, retail, education, engineering, military, and medical treatment among other fields, featuring improved software and hardware and richer content; releasing an ever-high anticipation for the future development of the VR chain. Besides the hot VR topic, crossover cooperation seems to be another highly discussed topic. The sparks from the collision of entertainment & real estate and animation & movie is shaping a promising bright future for pan-amusement with a fast growth of related businesses. Dramatic changes always happen, the entire industry is looking for the next variable and to see what will it bring to the amusement business.
